This week’s MoBoZonE kicks off with Calagad 13 an outfit from Granada in Spain with a mashup of Beyoncé’s Crazy. All Funk Alliance a US duo beckon us on to new frontiers of funky breaks and a fine instrumental from Acid Jazz Alliance. (AJA) feature members of JTQ and a provide a superb slice of jazz funk.

Propelling us farther into the jazz zone Shirley Scott is one of those unsung heroines of jazz  who was married to Stanley Turrentine and contributed to many artists albums. 

Akoya Afrobeats Ensemble provide a hypnotic landscape of a mixture of African Afro-Cuban jazz & funk music Akoya features members from Panama Ghana Benin South Africa Japan & the US. Lead vocalist Kaleta has performed & recorded with the immortal Fela Kuti Egypt 80 & King Sunny Ade. 

Taking us to the very limit of the MoBoZonE Is the very talented Alice Russell a UK singer with All Over Now a captivating piece that sails us gently back from the ZonE.
